Melissa Fraser is best known for her lively still lifes and large landscapes. Born in Melbourne, Australia, Melissa works primarily in oils.
Her inspiration comes from nature, and she brings those observations and paintings to life in her studio, a converted horse stable overlooking a magnificent oak tree.
Melissas focus on simplifying the images in her art has seen her work develop into a contemporary, figurative style. My aim is to evoke a response from the viewer, conveying a feeling, an atmosphere, an expression of the subject matter rather than a copy of it.
Over the years, Melissa has held solo exhibitions, and participated in group exhibitions, most recently at The Victorian Artists Society (of which she is a member), with the 'Four plus one' group.
Her work is held in various collections including Epworth Healthcare Art Collection, Melbourne Magistrates Court, Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Legal Offices in Melbourne and private collections in Australia and the UK.
Melissas oil paintings are usually on large box canvases ready for hanging
